A Fairytale Wedding: blooms, romance and total goals for 2026/27 weddings

A romantic, fairytale wedding hosted in the couple’s own garden

Back in January 2022, Paige and her lovely Mum came in for her first initial consultation here at Stock Florist. Paige and Danny had recently got engaged while on holiday in the gorgeous sunshine, while on the back on a private boat trip – a fairytale proposal story that we all gushed over!

The Initial Consultation

One of our Lead Florists, Molly, first met with Paige in our beautiful Stock Village base and had an in-depth consultation in which they went through all of Paige’s hopes and dreams for her wedding. The concept was simple and swoon-worthy: a romantic, fairytale wedding. Now we know what you may be thinking: it’s 2026, we are only just now talking about a wedding from 2022 – however we would strongly argue that a wedding this stunning is simply timeless. It’s no surprise that time and time again, brides who come in for their wedding floral consultations just adore this vibe!

After going through countless varieties of blooms and deciding on the perfect colour palette for them, they went away and left Molly to create their initial moodboard. To begin with, Paige had suggested a colour palette of purely blush pink and green foliages, however from a little encouragement from Molly, she walked away with the added depth and richness of hints of burgundy and whites that made the blush pop in such a fabulous way.

Paige’s Bridal Squad

We started with a cascading and wild hand tied for Paige’s bridal bouquet that included a mix of blush seasonal flowers and foliages. Fast forward 15 months through the many update meetings and all the wedding planning and we landed on a slightly unstructured mix of blush roses, with wispy foliage to compliment. The stems were kept long, the bouquet more front facing so held upright which over the last couple of years, we are seeing more and more of! It was the most romantic, lush mix of garden roses that were a dream to work with. The bouquet included a mix of Pink Mondial, Quicksand, Westminster Abbey and Pink Ohara roses, softened with eucalyptus for the perfect fairytale like bridal bouquet.

For the bridesmaids Paige had sourced these sweet wicker handbags that we had only seen being used in America and Australia, so we were all so excited that she had managed to get her hands on them. With more of a mix of the seasonal blooms featured in the rest of the fairytale wedding, it was a great way of having Paige’s bouquet deservedly stand out while having the most gorgeous little mix of meadow-like wonder in a very practical, very stylish bridesmaid accessory. While the couple did not reuse these after the ceremony other than for photos, they would have been a lovely centrepiece as well as bridesmaid accessory for any couples looking to help with the wedding budget.

The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was held at All Saint’s Church in Stock Village, the village where the couple grew up. At the church entrance, an impressive deconstructed floral arch welcomed in guests and family of the happy couple – made up of 2 floral columns and 2 floor meadows. This was later reused at the entrance of the marquee in Paige’s parents’ garden. It took one of our teams 3 hours from start to finish to construct this masterpiece. The explosion of lush, white Delphiniums at the bottom added drama to the archway and overall, the arch was a perfect first impression that set the fairytale like standard of florals for this wedding. With a mix of all the blooms on the final moodboard, Molly was able to digitally mock up the vision which our team of florists on the day brought to life – a great way of setting the tone from quote to real life and making it clear for the couple what the intended plan was.

An added bonus that Tom, Molly’s dad and Stock Florist’s Handyman, was able to cut down part of a White Poplar tree in his back garden so that our team could bring in some natural garden like elements and height that you typically cant get from bought in foliage – this was a really touching for Molly as being able  to forage from her childhood garden and see it add so much personality to the arch on the day was really personal and heartwarming. As the Lead Florist on the project, every part was important but adding in little touches like this meant not only did the arch surpass the couple’s hopes, but it also meant a lot to Molly as well.

Eleanor, Lead Florist at Stock Florist alongside Molly, lead the Church Team perfectly on the day and brought Molly’s mock up to life.

The Fairytale Wedding Breakfast

Back at her parent’s house, a beautiful marquee had been constructed in the middle of their wooded garden. The whole concept was to bring the outside beauty of nature in, and this was most certainly achieved over 3 days work hanging Soft Ruscus from all the light fixtures and creating a jaw-dropping elevated floral hoop that hung proudly over the circular bar in the middle of the marquee.

By having the hanging foliage drape the ceiling, it softened the marquee’s stark whiteness and brought a touch of nature into the space. Having such a tall space to work with was great fun and allowed the taller centrepieces to not be overcrowded. Paige’s one request was to have a romantic, fairytale wedding and by foraging a lot of the foliage, using seasonal blooms and a colour palette that had varied shades of blush, white and tiny hints of burgundy meant that the arrangements looked even more natural.

When Paige asked for her taller table arrangements to be tree trunks, it took Molly a few weeks to work out the logistics of this! However, with the help of a local tree surgeon and Tom the Handyman, she (well mostly her dad with her keen supervision of course!) was able to source and make these tree trunk stands entirely from scratch. Not only were they obviously super sturdy and solid enough to hold the giant floral bomb on top, but they were also a one-of-a-kind prop that had only ever been used for Paige’s wedding which she loved the idea of! At the base of the trees were smaller versions of the low table arrangements on the remaining tables – a meadow of garden blooms fit for royalty.

Summary

This wedding was the result of many careful months of planning from all the suppliers and the lovely couple. What Paige and Danny dreamed of for their big day, it was our job to make it come to life and the outcome was a fairytale dream they will never forget!

The flower ingredients list consisted of scabiosa, roses, delphiniums, sangasorba, wax flower and a whole bunch of beautiful mixed foliage. This mix was kept seasonal which is an eco-friendlier and budget-wise option that we as florists will always try to encourage! We loved every minute of bringing this wedding to life and hope that future brides and grooms continue to be as inspired as we are when they see the outcome.
